On 10 September BIS ART GALLERY will host the opening of Alexandra Khalipskaya’s solo exhibition‘Major tiny shot'

Relationships of two people flicker on the screen, all shades of human relations have been transferred from reality into the frames. Actors reincarnate into lovers, living in the roles, passing through their emotions, playing an invented life. The artist and actress Alexandra Khalipskaya embodied this magic in her painting, creating a series of miniature works to tell about more through the small.

Just as each fragment and episode is studied and selected during the creation of a film, so the viewer strives to grasp the changes that occur from one painting to another. At other moments he stops, immersing himself in the whimsical pattern and combinations of colour spots. And sometimes the paintings get out of control, merging and turning into an indecipherable whirlwind of emotions, dragging the space around them. The figures intertwine, intensifying the heat of passion, or disperse, giving themselves and the viewer a pause.

The intertwining of irony and sincerity, seriousness and playfulness, as in the best traditions of metamodernity, are harmoniously embodied in the pocket paintings of Alexandra Khalipskaya. The pictures, like film frames, form complex, sometimes non-trivial plots, turning into a sensual melodrama or a lyrical comedy. And each viewer can find his or her own unique story.
