From June 3 to June 14, the BIS ART GALLERY will host the group exhibition «The Magic of Everyday Life», exploring the neo-Romantic turn in culture.
The speed of human life has reached unprecedented limits, haste and fuss have become commonplace. In the continuous stream of news and events, it’s not easy to notice the beauty that surrounds us on a daily basis.
The current era of metamodernity is often described as a neo-romantic turn in the culture of the 21st century, which implies the desire of people to idealize life and seek new meanings. The romanticization of everyday life is spreading. It consists in consciously slowing down and contemplating the moment.
The exhibition explores how modern people learn to find the sublime in the familiar. According to the philosophy of metamodernism, magic is always nearby, and everyone is able to see it if they stop and look at the world more sensitively.
